Message from Liz Lougheed Green, ANHBC CEO
To the entire ANHBC Team from Liz Lougheed Green, ANHBC CEO:
I am sending this message during a time of great stress, ever-changing health guidelines and for many, illness. Myself, along with all of ANHBC’s Senior Leaders, want to express how incredibly proud we are of all of you; it has been a long two years, but together as a team we have managed to continue supporting our neighbours during the pandemic’s constant twists and turns.
We want to acknowledge the courage, professionalism and demonstration of our collective mission and values that you have shown at every step over the last two years. You have persevered despite the overwhelming circumstances. Through your commitment to your work and community, you are continuing to provide the best care possible to those who are often most vulnerable. In childcare, adult day care, youth outreach or in any one of our frontline roles, you inspire us all, and embody the neighbourhood house movement! Because of your ongoing resilience and determination, essential workers could leave their children in the trusted hands of our childcare staff and provide essential services to our communities, throughout the last two years. In the scariest of times you have shown up ensuring that seniors and youth were still connected in highly isolating times. And even with great personal risks facing you, being there for our neighbours was still your top priority. Together we build strong, healthy and supportive communities, even in the face of an ongoing pandemic.
Although there is still undoubtedly uncertainty in the days ahead, we want to take time to acknowledge and lift-up the work of ANHBC staff, who have not only had to adapt to new routines on an ever-shifting basis, but have had to do that regardless of the challenges present. As we look ahead to brighter days, we want to reaffirm our commitment to the health and safety of our employees, and encourage you to access the Employee and Family Assistance Program when you need it. This is a program that is open to everyone who works at ANHBC, regardless of your hours.
Warmly,
Liz
